How every lesson works

Each lesson starts with a short, plain-English explanation, followed by a real-life example that makes the idea click. Then you see real ServiceNow code with a line-by-line explanation, the most common mistake people make, and a quick check to test yourself. Every ServiceNow term is explained the moment it appears, so you never get stuck on jargon.

Before you start

Comfort with ServiceNow basics (tables, records and roles), basic JavaScript, and a free Personal Developer Instance (PDI) with admin access.

Frequently asked questions
Is this course free?

Yes. Every lesson is free to read, and you do not need to sign up to use it.

Do I need my own ServiceNow instance?

It is strongly recommended. You can get a free Personal Developer Instance (PDI) from developer.servicenow.com and try every example yourself, which is the fastest way to learn.

Do I need to finish Core ServiceNow Development first?

Not necessarily. If you already know tables, records, roles and basic scripting, you can start here. If those words are new, take Core ServiceNow Development first.

Do I need to know React or another front-end framework?

No. Most of UI Builder is configuration, and the beginner and intermediate modules only need basic JavaScript. Front-end experience helps in the advanced custom component lessons.

Which ServiceNow release is this based on?

Every lesson shows the release its code was tested on, right below the lesson title. Lessons are currently tested on Australia.

Is GlideNest official ServiceNow training?

No. GlideNest is an independent learning website. It works well alongside the official Now Learning courses by explaining concepts in simpler language with practical examples.

Does this course cover workspaces?

Yes. Module 5 shows how configurable workspaces are built with UI Builder and how to customise record, list and landing pages safely.

How often are new lessons added?

Regularly. Lessons marked "Soon" in the syllabus are on the way, in the order shown.
